Milena Velba Boobperdia

Almost Pizzo Cefalone

After more than 'a year I go back to Gran Sasso. Manco exactly by March 15 of last year, the day when we could, the little sister and I, to ski to the Valley of the Portella in spectacular condition, just three weeks before the earthquake.
Even today, two of us, the little sister and I, after a quick consultation last night.
As always, dramatic pre-dawn wake up now we'll meet at 6:30 in San Giovanni zone, and away towards the east, the road of Parks. The cable car and
'closed, but, of course, the road to Campo Imperatore and' opened:

at the car park, the day promises to be as weather, good weather and sunshine, with some passing cloud :

After a telephone consultation with L., abandoning the idea of \u200b\u200bthe Vallone dei Ginepri and decide to climb the Piz Cefalone to go down the slope towards the North Valley Venacquaro. The idea excites me, Cefalone having never climbed in winter conditions and having been in the Valley Venacquaro once in the summer. We are moving then to the Duke of Abruzzi, reachable in less than half an hour

will then continue to the Portella

and towards our destination, Pizzo Cefalone, noting the frames present on the north side of the ridge:

Suddenly, however, 'the weather changes:

and this leads us to reconsider our plans.
arrived last saddle before the peak of Milkfish, 100 meters longer 'at the bottom of this, we sit, some refreshment and we decide to withdraw. Go down the valley immediately east of the ridge that connects the Cefalone Pizzo d'Intermesoli up the huts, and thence up the skins for up to Campo Pericoli Sella di Monte Aquila. The slope and
'initially quite steep but the snow and' soft and skiing and 'fun now, although a bit' too short! In return, the ascent to Campo Pericoli and 'piuttoso long. But we can 'to ski some more' from the Sella di Monte Aquila to the road. Mario
